When I was a kid, I frequently exceled at many things despite the actual time put into them whether it was playing instruments, doing math problems, or playing games. I was never the top but I always performed better than expected. It almost felt like a magic power gifted to me from birth. However, as I became older, those miraculous thunders struck me less and less. Given the amount of time I spent on something, I performed exactly what I was supposed to perform just like conveyor belts in old factories.
However, recently, I discovered once again that I could repeat the same miracle as an adult. It was never a gift entitled to me. It was a simple brain trick that I involuntarily used as a child.
It was having a positive hope which was a gift itself.
Hope is different from belief because belief can be damaged by the outcome. Having a hope that I can do better at something actually increases my productivity and learning progress by 1.5 times. Nobody wants to work on something that leads to nothing. Nobody wants to live in a world where the future will be boring and repetitive. However, we can always hope for positive things to happen in our life even if they never happen. It is this positive mindset that can never be taken away from anyone and that adds dynamic, exuberant air into your life lungs.
